"Walking Dead" Draws Record Number of Viewers

The ratings were far from being deadly for the season premiere of AMC's Walking Dead. Despite being up against Sunday Night Football and post-season Baseball, the 4th season opener garnered a record 16.1 million viewers. That is more than 3 million viewers who tuned into the 3rd season's finale earlier this year.

The series drew an 8.2 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic. This makes it the number one show in that age bracket followed by The Big Bang Theory, which scored a 5.5 for its season premiere. The show is also tied with NCIS in the 25-54 demographic.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC Sundays at 9 PM followed by the post-show The Talking Dead at 10 PM.
