'Glee' trims cast!

Glee will be a few cast members short when it returns this September. It has been confirmed that Heather Morris (Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck), Amber Riley (Mercedes), and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) will not be returning as series regulars for season five. The characters Puck, Mercedes, and Mike have already graduated. Brittany still remained in school but was granted early admission to college. There was no indication if Morris' real-life pregnancy had anything to do with the decision for her to not return. Jane Lynch, who plays Sue, had this to say, "That’s the nature of portraying a realistic view of high school: Kids graduate. They move on." Glee has done this in the past. Series regulars Dianna Agron (Quinn) and Jayma Mays (Emma) were downgraded to guest stars beginning in season four.
