Tim's Top 10: The Best Middle Children

Below is a list I have compiled of the Top 10 Middle Children on TV over the years:

10. Cory Matthews Boy Meets World

Considering Cory Matthews was the title character of the show, it would be a shame if he didn't make it on the list. Though Cory's brother Eric got a majority of the funny lines, it was Cory's life we were seeing unfold each and every week.

9. Laura Winslow Family Matters

When Family Matters first aired there were three children: older brother Eddie, youngest sister Judy, and middle child Laura. Sadly, Judy was written out halfway through the series run. However, Laura's funny demeanor and having to put up with Steve Urkel 24/7 landed her at #9.

8. Theo Huxtable The Cosby Show

Cliff and Claire Huxtable had five children and Theo was the third born landing him right in the middle of the Huxtable clan and #8 on this list. Theo was the only son and had to deal with growing up with four sisters. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

7. Meg Griffin The Family Guy

Meg deals with a lot of crap on Family Guy. She is the butt of almost every joke and her whole family hates her. Watching how horrible her life is every week is quite entertaining and worthy of a #7 spot.

6. Jan Brady The Brady Bunch

Jan Brady has Marcia Brady for an older sister. It only made sense that she resented her so much and came up with the iconic line, "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia." To make matters worse, she had to wear glasses and braces while hiding in her beautiful sister's shadow. Making #6 on the list is probably the best thing that has ever happened to her.

5. Randy Taylor Home Improvement

Out of the three sons on the show, Randy was the only funny one. He was even able to hold his own against the very funny Tim Allen. Had he actually stayed on the show for the entire time, he may have scored higher on the list.

4. Stephanie Tanner Full House

Stephanie Tanner was probably the funniest character on Full House. When she wasn't driving through the kitchen in Joey's car or having Kimmy Gibler pierce her ears, she was able to come up with two memorable lines: "How Rude," and "Pin a Rose on Your Nose."

3. Sue Heck The Middle

Sue Heck is so weird she is funny. There is a high probability you will laugh out loud at least once because of something hilarious Sue did or said. Remember when she fell on the swing or tried out for cheerleading? Those are just two of the classic moments involving this middle child.

2. Lisa Simpson The Simpsons

The character of Lisa Simpson has been around for almost my entire life. In that time, she is proven she is smart, funny, and doesn't take any crap from brother Bart. She is the common sense for the entire city of Springfield. She deserves the #2 spot on this list.

1. Darlene Conner Roseanne

Darlene Conner is the best of the best for middle children on TV. She was a horrible sibling to Becky and DJ, but her sarcasm is the reason she tops this list. One of my favorite Darlene moments is when she asks brother DJ if he knows why she likes to swear. When he asks why, she lovingly tells him to, "Shut the Hell up."
